Construction disputes are almost always about time and variation rather than about the contract’s headline terms. We advise employers and contractors on contract structure, including FIDIC-based forms, and on the record-keeping that determines whether a delay or variation claim can later be proved. Where a project is already in difficulty, the first work is usually reconstructing what the contemporaneous record actually shows.
Energy projects sit on licenses, and the license terms shape the commercial arrangements around them rather than the other way round. We advise on the regulatory framework applicable to generation and supply, licensing and permitting, project and offtake agreements, and disputes arising out of them, including where a foreign sponsor’s home jurisdiction expectations do not match Turkish regulatory practice.
We advise foreign nationals and their employers on entry, residence and employment in Turkey: Work permit applications, residence permits, citizenship pathways, and the obligations an employer takes on when hiring foreign staff. We also handle what happens when these processes go wrong, including rejections, appeals and compliance problems with the relevant authorities.
Turkish tenancy law is heavily regulated and surrounded by more misinformation than almost any other field we work in. Since 7464 sayılı Kanun and its implementing regulation, short-term letting through platforms carry a permit regime, a tax regime and an enforcement risk that did not previously exist. We advise property owners, platform operators and foreign nationals on all three, including what to do when an inspection has already happened.
